Ardent is a feature length dystopian film that I wrote in the last year of my degree in Media Production. It follows an underground society where love is forbidden in the aftermath of nuclear war.

Synopsis
In the aftermath of a violent outburst, an overachieving young woman begrudgingly breaks a young girl out of the bunker they’ve been living in– braving an unfamiliar and hostile new world, as they join forces in pursuit of a better future.
The film pulls on themes of love, repression, religion, freedom, and what it means to be a family.
Think The Last of Us meets Fallout.

Timeline
While development of this script started back in September 2025, I have been continuously writing and re-writing the film since January 2026. The final draft will be completed in April of 2026, afterwards I’ll be looking to option it off to get produced.
The biggest challenge I faced during this process was developing my skills at writing action, as well as writing fully fleshed out long form content. Out of everything I’ve written, this has challenged me the most as a screenwriter, and pushed me out of my comfort zone, but I only grew stronger through the process.
